This series brings together mixed-media works that combine everyday materials, photographs, and collected words to form intimate personal narratives shaped by emotions and specific moments in time. The photographic elements move between archival family images, self-portraits, found photographs from old books, and images of ordinary objects and domestic spaces taken by the artist. The materials are drawn from Shaima’s daily surroundings, creating close emotional and material links between object, text, and image. Embroidery on paper and fabric introduces a tactile, handmade quality that emphasises care, repetition, and time spent. The layering of text with photographic fragments invites viewers to linger over the fragile relationship between memory and everyday life. Although the works were produced across different periods, they are gathered under the title Things That Time Feeds On, with time present not as a visible subject but as a quiet force shaping how these moments, gestures, and feelings unfold.
